Help Nurses and Victims of Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence made landfall near Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, on Sept. 14, bringing 90 mph winds and more than 35 inches of rain to the Carolinas and surrounding areas.  Because of the storm, more than 30 people have died and nearly 2 million evacuated their homes due to massive flooding and other damage.

As nurses and communities recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Florence, here are some ways you can help.

Emergency funds

To provide relief for RNs who have suffered loss or damages from Hurricane Florence, the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) and its charitable arm, the North Carolina Foundation for Nursing (NCFN) have set up the Nurse Recovery Fund.  The fund accepts tax-deductible donations with the sole purpose of helping nurses get back on their feet sooner.

  • You can donate to the Nurse Recovery Fund here.
  • Nurses in need of relief aid can apply here.
